I could be writing, but I thought you can tell which version you have by physically looking at the rear of the board. Looking from the rear of the xLCD:

Type A has the PE Connection point in the right left, so in this case the plastic bracket hooks over the LCD.

Type B has the PE connector on the bottom right of the board. 

There is no difference between the two types other than the position of the PE connector, and hence the printed brackets that fit.

I believe this is correct.

I doubt any kits or upgrades shipping now would be prior to rev 27, as my MK4 kit that I got July 18th was already rev 27.

I'm beginning to print parts for my MK3S => MK4 upgrade. 

There are 2 versions of xlcd cover, one of which is for v27 or later. Where can I find what xLCD version I have? On the xLCD PCB under PRUSA text I find small print saying "27|2023-04|cMC". I assume I have version 27 board.

Is this correct?

You could make a spreadsheet with Excel or Google Sheets. Title, Directory, Date Added, Example picture,  etc. It's even sortable.

But that doesn't answer the question.  I dont know which rev to use  R2 or R3
