How is MK3S+ -> MK4 full different from MK3 -> MK34?

It seems like the upgrade kit to MK4 isn't available for the MK3, but that's weird, isn't it?

There's a kit to go from MK3 -> MK3S+, and seems like the MK4 kit replaces almost all the parts anyway.  I would think that MK3 to MK4 wouldn't be much different than MK3S+ to MK4...

Thoughts?

3... 2.. 1.

On the real though, it may just have been a miss.  It seems like Prusa has their hands in far too many pots right now.

Curious to see if anyone tries this out...

I've got the MK3 to MK3S+ kit but am waiting for the MK3s+ to MK4 kit to arrive (some time in June??) before doing anything.   I suspect most of the printed parts for the MK3S upgrade will not be needed.  In fact the whole MK3S upgrade kit will most likely be surplus to requirements!

You may need the steel bearing clips for the Y axis bearings.

No worries, I won't throw anything away until the final upgrade is completed!

RE:

Please see my other post.  Tech support told that you can do the upgrade to either the 3.9 or 4.0 on the vanilla Mk3.  The 3.5 kit requires the Mk3S because it uses its existing extruder and the 3.5 firmware requires that.

Makes sense.  So, my timing of when to upgrade to MK3S+ was superceded by the intro of the MK4.  Luckily the 3 to 3S+ kit was not very expensive.

Right!  But the 3S kit does have the Y-axis bearing clips if you feel like making that upgrade.

That's true so I'll defnitely add those when doing the full upgrade.
