Hotend heater self test failure

I recently build the MK4 kit and had two errors in the self test: hotend fan, and hotend heater. Many people have reported the hotend fan failure, and it went away after a while. For the hotend heater, I could see it getting up to 200 C or more and then the test reported a failure. Running prints worked fine, so I don't think there actually is a problem. However, it's annoying to be prompted to re-run the test every time I turn the printer on. In case anyone else has this problem, I made the test pass by telling it had a silicone sock, even though it didn't. I'll update this thread if it turns out there really is a problem; I don't think there is.

(Also, I did report this to support, but spend 30 minutes with a message saying the queue time was 2 minutes, followed by connecting to someone who wanted me to video the error message from the display screen, at which point I ran out of time to continue the conversation.)

I am having the same problem. The printer does not provide any more information. Just that the test fails. I do not have a sock installed and have the setting disabled. The test fails but I don't know why.

I have also just ran into this issue today after trying to figure out why my prints have been failing the last couple days
