Thermistor problem?!

hello guys, you do a pretty good job helping people and to be a good community for this hobby.

well I have my printer assembled from factory 7 years with 80days of printing time.

I have a smell while I printing some days before. As you see the cables are melted.

Do anybody knows if this is a thermistor problem?!

I need to change only the thermistor and everything will be ok?!

thats for now. Thanx in advance.

Replacing the thermistor may be enough. But frankly, this heater block looks bad. While replacing the thermistor, I would heat up the hotend and use a brass brush to clean the heater block thoroughly.

I wonder if the smell was scorching cobwebs?

The wires don't look too bad - but everything else does.

I can't tell how much of that is fine stringing and how much cobwebs - clean it away and dry the filament to prevent stringing.  Clean the fans.  For 7 years basic cleaning, lubrication and general maintenance have all been missed.

Brushing the heatblock as @foxrun3d suggests  is a good idea.  Make certain to turn off the printer when the block is hot enough and to brush with the power off.  You can do more damage by shorting those base wires when live.

And I expect you have a dirty print bed. Give it a really thorough clean and avoid touching the print area.

Cheerio,

thanx a lot for your answers.

Yeah it was also my thought to clean first  the heater block.

so I hope the cables melted because of the thermistor failure. And I will see?!
