Still no upgrade path from MK3.5S to MK4s?
I can´t find any upgrade path from the MK3.5S to the MK4S. I thought it would take some time for Prusa to create this path, but I guess I was wrong?
Will Prusa even consider this path? The upgrade from the MK3S+ to the MK3.5S was great, lots of improvements, but now that the new extrude is more mature and widely used, plus the auto-leveling matured as well (with firmware upgrades and enhancements), I feel that a lot of people with a MK3.5S would like to make that jump to the MK4S.
An upgrade path from the MK3.5S and MK4S would really be appreciated by the Prusa community.
Thank you !
RE:
I recently upgraded to a MK3.5. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. The MK3.5 is a price/performance sweet spot, especially with a Revo hotend.
I would lose the Revo and the hassle-free nozzle changes. In that regard the MK4S would feel like a step back.
Looking at the upgrade price from 3.5S/+ --> MK4S, my guess is that the upgrade would cost around € 500 for a marginal improvement in speed and print quality. And for a 'perfect first layer' I don't need a nextruder. Once dialed in, my first layers are always perfect.
Rather than upgrading to a MK4S, I would sell my MK3.5 (and make a 3d printing newbie happy) and buy a new MK4S kit. Or better: save up a bit and buy a Core ONE.
But that is just my opinion.
RE: Still no upgrade path from MK3.5S to MK4s?
I wouldn't hold my breath for an upgrade path from 3.5 to 4. With the Core One out, it's more obvious than ever that the Mk4 was a dead-end street of evolution.I for one would hate if Prusa invested resources into an upgrade package to a product I'm sure they don't see as critical anymore, rather than putting those resources to work on their next great product.

Yeap, selling my MK3.5S....
The question is.... who will buy it ? lol
Fingers crossed !
RE: Still no upgrade path from MK3.5S to MK4s?
I get it CoreONE is the way to go, but many YT channels have tested and the MK4S still prints better on PLA and PETG, as the "smart" ventilation system from the CoreONE is not being as effective as it should for materials that don´t necessarily need closed chamber. Not sure that the MK family is a dead end, but I agree that we should see more innovation from Prusa.
As for my MK3.5S, well, it for sale, now... who will buy it? only God knows. Because new people getting into 3d printing will prefer a Bambu A1 with a lite AMS 1000x over a Prusa, single color only, printer (and they will be about the same price)

I hope prusa does this. They have all the parts, just need to package them together with some instructions.
Have to do my upgrades incrementally but really wished I had done the 3.9 or 4.0 upgrade instead of 3.5.
RE: Still no upgrade path from MK3.5S to MK4s?
The MK3.5 would be the perfect next hop for me as the cost is manageable vs 3.9 and 4.0 upgrades.
I imagine if they offered an MK3.5 to 3.9 or 4.0 upgrade, it would also be manageable in terms of cost.
