IR filament sensor calibration

I am having a nightmare trying to sensor calibration.

I have only just done my Mk3s to Mk3.5 and MMu2 to MMU3.

Does the IR filament sensor calibration read 1 all the time when nothing in the gap?

I have done all the help from ( https://help.prusa3d.com/article/ir-filament-sensor-calibration-mmu3-mmu2s_2245 ) but no luck.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Picture of what I mean.

I couldn't find away how to edit post.

A picture and it reads 1 when empty.

RE: IR filament sensor calibration

Hello, I had the same problem after installing my mmu3. Very inconsistent behavior.
Now I found my problem.
Had to disassamble my  "Step 27 Extruder-idler disassembly" from here https://help.prusa3d.com/guide/9b-mk3s-mk3-5-extruder-mod-kit_420370.
The shaft was dislocated! So the gear was misspossisioned.

Hope this will help you!

Greetings

Thanks for the help.

I have done that and still not working.

A person from Prusa did start to help me by sending a new cable adapter + IR sensor + cable. Fitted but still same and has stopped with the emails.

The IR sensor is inverted and I am going to try to reflash it again and see what happens.

RE: IR filament sensor calibration

Hi,

sorry for that.

Mine worked for about 2 month. Than the problems startet.

I was able to see the ir-sensor turned on when the filament was loaded, and the turned off. This caused the problem.
Then I disassabled the sensor and his arm and dedected that the pin wasnt in the right place. I put it back and this worked well since than. For about a month or so.

So all the best for your troubleshooting

Greetings

Lambert
