X and Y axis end stops
I have a MK 2.5 and am about to install the extruder filament sensor upgrade with new extruder holder. My question, has the firmware update removed the need/use of the end stops on the x and y axis. Somewhere I read that the print head and base are controlled by software/firmware. If that is true then should I remove them from the printer. OR is this only available on the new MK3/or not at all?
RE: X and Y axis end stops
you need the endstop switches unless you upgrade to a MK3 with EINSY and tmc drivers ( the tmc drivers are what provide the stopless homing
RE: X and Y axis end stops
any possible way to develop a way for the present MK2.5 firmware to do likewise?
Thanks for your response. I had been thinking of using the MK3 x-axis motor mount, which has a screw adjustment for the belt tension, on my MK-2.5. I may just see if I can get the exact hole placement on the MK3 part so I can mount my end stop switch (limit switch). May delay my extruder/sensor upgrade instillation.
RE: X and Y axis end stops
the problem is not the motors/mounts but the EINSY controller vs. RAMBO board - only the EINSY has the tmc chips that sense motor current
