Where is Hop Z speed in PS 2.3?
Hi, where can I set the Hop Z speed in PS 2.3?
RE: Where is Hop Z speed in PS 2.3?
There isn't a separate setting for z-hop speed. I believe it is done at the same speed as retraction.

Thanks. What value do you recommend if I have HopZ on but the nozzle still scratches?

Z-hop is a work-around for nozzle ooze. I'd focus on reducing the ooze first.
- Calibrate your extrusion multiplier for each filament. If your filament diameter and/or multiplier aren't right, your extruder may be pushing a bit too much filament, which results in over extrusion, which can result in excess dripping out the nozzle.
- Reduce temperatures. Filament gets more fluid as it gets hotter, and some filaments particularly so. I find PETG gets very runny. If you can print a bit cooler, it can reduce ooze.
- Solid top infill patterns can aggravate nozzle dragging due to uneven surfaces. Try Monotonic top infill for more regular top surfaces.
- If this is a 1st layer issue, be sure you've adjusted your Live-Z properly so the nozzle isn't digging into the 1st layer.
- Finally, if all else fails, increase the z-lift distance. I can get by with 0.4mm on my Prusa Mk3, but have to use 1.2mm on my Sidewinder printer.

@bobstro
Thanks. I have a not-to-cheap digital caliper. The problem is there is no way to get an accurate measurement because even at the same spot, different readings are shown depending on how I close the claws, how much force I used, etc.
Is this a good reason to buy Prusament filaments for consistency and less deviations from 1.75mm?

Prusament is excellent. There are other filaments with equal consistency though, so your choice really depends on what's available for a reasonable price, and in the colors and type you need. I always do the extruder multiplier check with any filament just to verify it works as expected with my hardware setup and settings. The entire process only takes a few minutes. I don't worry too much about filament precision with most prints, but sometimes you want things looking as good as possible.
