I would like to suggest adding a more thorough check of the filament sensor in the initial wizard. the only thing that is checked is the actual connection and operation of the sensor but not if the lever with the ball is really free to slide. It would be enough to start an unload filament, ask the user to confirm that the filament is no longer present and give an error or not if the sensor is 1 or 0.
In my case I had to loosen a few screws to ensure effective operation. This is trivial but a novice user on his first printer may not notice it for a long time (or until first printing disaster).

If the hotend is over 200C, change "preheat" menu to one click "cooldown."
On the "unload filament" option, heat up only the hot end and not the build plate. (I use this at night to put filament away in dryboxes, no need to spend electricity warming up the build plate.)

That is actually a great idea -- never understood why the sheet gets heated for a simple unload.

I would like to see your "Variable layer height" function applying different layer heights to different islands (because of their details) at the same height of the same object.

Would it be possible to have the ability to view the mesh bed leveling data without the need to use octoprint?
Ie, run MBL manually from the menu, then the option to display results.
Would be very handy to see if your bed remains around the same before starting a print, could point to other issues.

File selection is AFAIK the only place with this prankster behaviour
It also happens when manually selecting/changing temperatures and raising or lowering printing speed. The software is not handling the shaft encoder (knob) pulses correctly. It's almost like "bounce" in hardware switches.

I would like the following to be added to the firmware (I use them myself, and will never downgrade to a mk3s/mmu2s firmware without them):
1. Filament loading test to include check that filament does not get stuck during load (see also pull request https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/pull/2927 )
This modification is the single most important addition I have had so far. In short, it will pause the mmu2s print instead of fail to change filament and print an empty layer when the filament got stuck.
You might be surprised that this very simple check is still not in the firmware, and that I even got the response that with sufficient calibration it is not even needed (sort of "if anything goes wrong, just blame yourself"). The pull request needs some polishing to be streamlined, however, since I added it in my firmware in late 2020, I have had 0 (zero) failed prints due to mmu filament switching errors (I print every day and have to date used a large number of filament brands and kinds). I think this modification should be quite tempting for other users as well.
2. Make PINDA active during print (see also pull request
https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/pull/2929 )
This will pause the print if the filament breaks in the front PTFE tube (which will sometimes happen eg for ColorFABBs very fragile "brass fill" filament). Also, if the nozzle clogs (can happen eg when using a wood fill filament), the upcoming grinding will soon generate a pause (which might with a bit of luck even give you a chance to save the print).
Why PINDA is not active during print is a mystery to me. In my implementation you can turn on/off the feature via the menu.
3. Get rid of the hard coded filament loading speed (see also pull request https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/pull/2914 )
Any one tempted to load flex70A or even flex82A will understand why it is a bad idea to have the filament load speed hard coded as it is now.

My request is a small one, but something I would really like to see implemented: when a print completes, add the option to "Reprint" like the Mini has.
During the early part of the pandemic when we were all printing face shields and mask straps, this would have saved a LOT of frustration getting the same prints restarted over and over again. I imagine for people running print farms, this would be useful as well.
**Maybe in line with some of the other requests above, add a "Reprint Last" option, followed by a prompt that lets you select a different flexplate before starting. (That would be useful on the Mini as well).

Knowing that this is not completely what you are looking for - but using Octoprint brings this feature to you - but it is additional equipment you need for doing so.

@clemens-m Yup, been using Octoprint on and off for years- and it’s great. But one of the biggest reasons I’d like to see this added is to make the behavior the same as the mini.

Some of these might not be things of the 8-bit so please Haribo bear with me.
- Filament spools on file that the system can tell you how much of a spool is left. This could be performed by using the dial to enter the code from the side of the spool and saving it in a file on the SD Card.
- Live Z Adjust presetting based on the material
- Holding the dial down pause the print. having to scroll and enter multiple times to get to the pause and stop is a bit inefficient.
- Preset material temperatures adjustable in settings (with defaults showing using [default])
- Maybe the PINDA can determine the thermal expansion based on bed points at certain temperatures. This way the Live Z adjust could be a one time deal...just maybe.
- A Larger Square for the 1st layer calibration with multiple points on the bed. I know there are some others out there but I feel this could be set as a default.
- I want to be able to include a prompt during my prints that asks (while still keeping everything hot) whether its ok to continue. This would allow me to clean the nozzle moments before the intro line.

I would love to see object cancellation as well as some optimization in the firmware to cut out ringing and resident frequencies in the frames especially the MK3 in Mk3S. I wouldn’t object to a setting that printed slower but cut out resident frequencies I made the printer much quieter. Tuning the acceleration jerk etc.
