What would be the right way to cut a Prusa Satin sheet?

After only owning an MK4 for a year, I couldn't resist Sovol's interpretation of the Voron platform and bought an SV08. It's a nice enough printer, but during my calibrations I really came to hate the steel print sheets one can buy in 355x355. I used the Sovol one, one from Fysetc and a rather expensive Honey Badger, but all of those are utter crap compared to the satin sheet on my MK4.

As the print sheet for the XL has a size of 360x360, I obviously started thinking about cutting one so that it would fit a typical 355x355 Voron 2.4 heat bed. I very much assume that none of the tools at my disposal would be suitable for that task.

If you actually know that kind of stuff, please share with me how one would cut such a sheet. Laser? Plasma? Water? And if you are in Germany and actually own that kind of equipment, I would love to discuss if you could perhaps do a little cutting for me... 🙂

Cutting a steel plate without damaging it isn’t a simple task, of course. Only a minor deformation will render it useless. I have no idea what tools are needed, but why don’t you use a Prusa XL satin plate without any modification ?.  Being only 5mm longer on both sides it would perfectly on my Voron 2.4-350. There’s plenty of extra space at the sides and around 2 cmt. from the protruding tabs at the front edge of a 355 mm plate to the doors of the enclosure. Another extra 5mm. isn’t a problem. Perhaps your Sovol is more compact than a regular Voron 2.4 ?

In fact, I’ve been thinking of purchasing a XL satin plate for my Voron. As you say, there’s nothing similar to Prusa satin plates elsewhere. It’s either textured plates with coarse grain or smooth.

You could cut it using a cutting disc on a Dremel, just make sure you keep stopping to let the heat dissipate or you might damage the coating

Sadly, that's not an option. I do not own a real Voron, but the Sovol SV08 which is _almost_ a Voron 2.4. The heatbed on that thing has alignment ridges around the bed so that the XL sheet would not fit, sadly.
