What does saving a Project accomplish?
I thought I was using a project file to save all of the print settings for infill, wall thickness, support material, temperatures, etc. on a production part. When I pulled in a new version of the .STL file using "Reload from Disk" it corrupted these settings. I already have a .gcode file for the old print, so what is accomplished by saving a project?
RE: What does saving a Project accomplish?
Obviously it saves all your settings. So making changes such as number of perimeters, infill, etc is easy. You can also use a project as a template for other prints. Reloading the STL should not affect any of these settings. However... if the geometry of the updated STL is sufficiently different, settings such as paint on seams or paint on supports may not transfer correctly.
