Variable speed settings.
There's probably an existing way to do this but I suggest a similar interface to the variable layer height function but for speed as a percentage of the current speeds as defined by the advanced speed settings. You could configure the range similar to how the min/max layer height is configured so you could have minimum speed 40%, maximum speed 160% for example, then using the left/right mouse buttons on a colour bar like how the variable layer height works, click regions you wish to slow and regions you think can run faster.
I like to run the first few layers very slow, then speed up once the foundations are established. I use variable layer height so may wish to slow thicker layers to account for the larger volume of material that needs melting. Using variable layer height can cause banding - both due to the difference in layer height but also due shine Vs matte visual differences likely due to larger layer heights having less melt time per volume Vs a lower layer height setting. An "auto" variable speed setting with a "smooth" button so there are no abrupt speed changes would also be cool.
What do we think?
RE: Variable speed settings.
I like the idea parameters adapted to the variable layer height.
