Upgrading from MK3S+ with MMU2S to MK4 and MMU3
I was having problem with loading on my mk3s+ printer and have gone in circles over and over to figure it out. Tired of it . I want to upgrade as it looks like there are new electronics and stepper motors which are likely part of problem . What I want to know is what parts will need to be printed as there is no link on the BUY page for them. I have the lack enclosure and have thrown away the small trays for spools . Will I order both upgrade kits MMU2S- MMU3 and MK3S+ - MK4 ? I will need to ask a friend to build all the pieces so would like it all figured out ahead of time. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi tigertrainer
Yes you will need to buy both MMU2S to MMU3 and MK3S+ to MK4 upgrade kits.
You will need to print these plastic parts yourself if you purchase the MK3S+ to MK4 upgrade kit.

The Nextruder main plate, idler lever A, idler lever B, idler nut, 2 Idler swivels, fan shroud, PG assembly adapter and PG case should come in the MK3S+ to MK4 upgrade kit as some of these parts are printed in specialty polymers.(Check with Prusa support)

If you don’t have a filament guide then you will need to print one of these too-(filament-guide-R2) If required!
As for the MMU2S to MMU3 upgrade kit, new upgraded spool holders are included or at least they were up until a few weeks ago but check with Prusa support. But you will need to print all the plastic parts yourself as everything has been upgraded or changed slightly and they do not come in the upgrade kit.
Just as food for thought, the MK3S+ to MK4 upgrade kit costs $579 NOT including shipping and you have to print all the parts yourself and the complete MK4 Kit is $799 NOT including shipping and the kit contains everything you need, including the plastic parts.
Personally I would lean to purchasing the MK4 kit and selling the MK3S+ to recoup some of the money outlayed for the MK4 or keep the Mk3S+ for spare parts,ie, the PSU and the heatbed etc, but that’s just me personally so what do I know right?
Good luck.

Hi Thanx.
So I guess I need all 98 pieces not just the 7 that are open ? I am going to hate to ask friend to print all that . Now I need to see what I need for lack closure . (I have)
RE: Upgrading from MK3S+ with MMU2S to MK4 and MMU3
I read it as just the 7.
Might be worth checking with support.

RE: Upgrading from MK3S+ with MMU2S to MK4 and MMU3
Thank you muddy maker and JP for your answers and help. It looks like I will be buying the kit and saving time overall. Can't sell old one as I still have no idea what can be wrong with it and it's feeding problem and get too frustrated trying everything . May get to it again someday.
Thanx again
