RE: UK orders

Thank you SO much for your reply. Apologies for sounding stupid about it, but the direct Gov website is so evasive and vague it felt like a big trap I was just about to pull the trigger on!

Part of me choosing Prusa for my new printer was that the community has incredible members who all help each other... and this has proven I am making thr correct choices - Many many thanks for taking the time to clear my concerns up.

My kindest regards.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Reading through some of the guidance as an outsider, I can see why there's some confusion. If I'm reading it correctly, UK customers can expect the customs shock that the Australians have experienced.

As of 1 January, 2021, shippers selling goods valued at or below £135 into the UK will be responsible for collecting and paying UK VAT for these shipments. The VAT amount should be collected at the point of sale and paid to HMRC through the UK VAT registration.

For goods sold into the UK valued above £135, the importer will remain responsible for paying the UK VAT. This can be paid by the importer via postponed VAT accounting or through the customs declaration.

If nothing else, it sounds like Prusa will have to differentiate between orders under and over £135 and figure out how to pay UK VAT. It also seems returns are more complicated, something Prusa will definitely be concerned about.

hi based on my knowledge  basically, if you’re selling something to the UK and it is £135 or under, you have to add VAT at the time of sale and pay it to HMRC by yourself. But if it is over £135, then the person receiving it in the UK deals with the VAT either when the item arrives or later using postponed VAT accounting... I hope you get the suggestion..thank u
