To nozzle wipe or not to wipe.. that is my question

Do you use nozzle wipers, or not? I have not yet found a good reason to use it but perhaps I have not found the boundaries yet where I start to need it.

I don't, but I imagine if my printer had come with one I'd might be looking at me, with my brass brush out between prints, like some kind of caveman 😀

If you keep you printer nozzle clean, then there is no need. I added one to my C1L, I am still manually doing it anywany. I see it as extra insurance, but since we don't have the ooze issues any longer, like the Mk3 days, it is unnecessary.

I installed a nozzle wiper mod on my C1 as I got tired of the copper brush and pliers to keep the nozzle clean. Still need to use them from time to time.

But I’ve also become better at drying my filaments, so I already suffer less from oozing and stringing than before.

I wish the nozzle wiper could be used during a filament/color change without the g-code complaining. It probably can, but I’m waiting for the INDX anyway so I didn’t investigate further.

I tend to be unnecessarily fastidious about my printer (and 10-15 seconds with a brush every so often isn't much to ask) so I haven't felt the need. But hey, a big part of owning a 3D Printer is modding a 3D Printer, even when not strictly necessary — so I can certainly understand the appeal.

I started with a brush, mushes stuff around and sends flakes it all over the printer. Quality tweezers I found much more effective and less cleaning, great for grabing ooze. 170 for most filaments, comes right off the nozzle.

I've been using the Biqu Glacier sheets more and more often. Haven't seen any wipers that work with those sheets.

Missed that one! Will give it a try. Some day... Right now I'm trying to put one of those Inbxx's together.

Good luck with that. BTW, did you pick up one of the hardware kits?

Yes, I got the Blurolls kit. So far I have mixed feelings. I have the designer's XL enclosure, which is decent, so I hope this one will be okay too. But you put it all together, it's a lot more money than it looked at first.   But I needed something different than the side mounted spool holders because my printers sit pretty tight side by side, and I don't have enough space on the wall to expand my current RepRack setup to 8 spools per printer.
