Suppliers need to get rid of the kink in the filament at the end of the spool!

Many suppliers have a kink or bend at the end of the filament used in winding.   The problem is this can jam in the PTFE tube, Extruder or the MMU.   Recently I have had many jams during the MMU3 Eject process because of the kink at the end of the spool.   This causes the spool join and print to fail.     This is a picture of the kink from one of my filament rolls.    That little bend is all it takes to cause problems.

I reject the work around of cutting it off when it comes to the end of the spool.   Waiting around the printer until the end of the spool is accessible makes me a slave to the 3D printer.   My 3D printer should be my tool, not my master.

From all of my filament suppliers  I am going to confirm the spool is "kinkless" or ask that a "kinkless" spool winding process be developed.      There are ways it can be done, customers should demand it.    3D printing has matured and a "kinkless" filament spool should be standard.

We should be free from being a printer slave and start asking for "kinkless" spools.

just cut it off before you use the spool.  On the polyterra ones I have you can do that at any point as it pokes inside the inner core.

Interesting. I print with exclusively add:north filament and I've never had this issue. They've also got a kink at the spool's end, but it's far less pronounced (more like a slight bend) so it doesn't get stuck in the PTFE tube. I wonder why your filament manufacturer is using such pronounced kinks when a slight bend is enough for others.
