Suggestion for Prusa Slicer

Hi,

I would like to put forward the idea of having the ability to paint on KEEPOUT areas for print sheets that have some damage on them and can not be printed on in one or more areas yet still be useable for smaller prints that can be placed around these areas.

The slicer can then warn of overlap.

Could you please suggest this on the Prusa Slicer Git Hub Page, where the Developers live?

regards Joan

RE:

Actually you can do this already (only visible part, not warnings), you just need to use custom texture for the print bed. So you can see where not to place models, but this will not make it PrusaSlicer aware of damaged sheets.

in PrusaSlicer enable Expert Mode, then Printer Settings > General > Bed Shape > [Size and coordinates] Set > [Texture] Load and choose the texture for the print bed (edit in some image editor)

Example result:

texture (transparent so hard to see 😀 ):

get textures from https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/tree/master/resources/profiles/PrusaResearch

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.

I would suggest adding in function hollow out a hollow cylinder along the length of a model For the purpose of inserting a dowel or rod, for greater support and stability.
