Stringing issue with PETG for Mk2 -> Mk2.5S upgrade parts (gcode files)

I'm printing parts on my MK2 to do an upgrade to MK2.5S and I'm having some issues with printing those parts.  I'm using the gcode files for these upgrade parts.

I've had great quality results while printing with PLA but this is my first experience printing with PETG.

Below are some pictures of the print.  The biggest issue is there's a fair amount of stringing and in some cases it looks like some of the finer details may have been lost, although I'm not sure yet if I can use these parts or not.

Can someone give me some tips on how to reduce the stringing?  One factor which might be contributing is that the ambient temperature in the room where my printer is, is about 63℉.  (17℃).  Do I need to bring the room temperature up some to fix this issue?

Thanks, Dave

Chances are your PETG filament is wet. PETG likes to absorb moisture from air, you may want to dry it before printing. People have good results with food dehydrators with adjustable temperature, run it at desired temperature (65 degrees usually for PETG) for 2-4 hours. You can try oven as well, problem is it's hard to control temperature and evenness in the oven and you may end up melting your spool. Try printing again, if it still strings, dry some more.

You are using the smooth PEI sheet. Be aware PETG like to get a death grip on that surface.

You might want to use a little release agent, like Windex, if it sticks too much.

Hot end temp is set in the GCode, but you might try tuning it down by 5 degrees. That reduces stringing.

And let us know what specific PETG you are using - and the recommended temp on the side of the reel.

Thanks for the additional info.  I'm using the small roll of PETG, black color, that came as part of the Mk2/S -> Mk2.5S upgrade kit.  I did notice that the pieces I did print (with stringing) were hard to remove from the bed but I was able to do it okay -- I'll try some windex on the bed next time before I print.  I'll also try turning down the HE temp by 5 deg (Fahrenheit?).  If that doesn't work, I'll try drying the PETG

We only speak Celsius here... All the temperatures you see in the display are in Celsius. Temps on the side of filament rolls are in Celsius. Like most of the civilized world. (I am American)

I checked the humidity in my workshop and it's only around 13%.  Would that indicate that moisture is not the issue or not necessarily?  Thanks all for you help with this.

Your filament is helping to keep your house dry. It is sucking all of the moisture out of the air.

Keep filament in zip lock bags or other moisture protected containers. Toss in a few desiccant bags. And check them.
