State of affairs, PEI powder coated sheet
Maybe I missed something, but afaik the last update by Prusa on the powder coated sheets was back in November, where they stopped allowing new orders, and claimed they have a backlog of 17k ordered sheets while they only get a couple thousand per month from their supplier.
Has anyone heard any news about this? Assuming "a couple of thousand" was around 4k, they'd have cleared about half of their backlog by now, and while it's obvious that it's still going to take maybe two months more, I'd still appreciate somewhat regular updates. I'd absolutely hate to miss the day they allow new orders again because of such long radio silence.
I'm thinking about ordering the MMU2 kit now instead of a couple months down the road because of the long lead time on it, but given the expensive shipping even within the EU (starting at around 23 bucks for anything no matter how small/cheap) I certainly don't want to place a separate order just for the powder coated sheets once they become available for purchase again later.
Seems like longer wait times for new products frequently happen at Prusa, so maybe someone here has already made some experiences: Will the guys from the online shop allow adding on to already placed orders that haven't shipped yet? Or would they even hold orders where all the products are in stock when they know you want to order product XY too that will be released any day, so you can get combined shipping?
By the way, is there anything known for sure, or are there any pretty safe educated guesses, about the next iteration of the printer? (whatever it'll be called, MK3S or MK4)
Re: State of affairs, PEI powder coated sheet
I ordered my MK3 Oct 21,2017 and still waiting for my powder coated sheet. might take little longer then you think.
Re: State of affairs, PEI powder coated sheet
Current shipping table says new MMU orders will ship in March. So there's that.
Re: State of affairs, PEI powder coated sheet
A couple of thousand is less than 3000 but more than 1000 if your go by common standards. It will take 6-10 month to clear at that rate.
