Slow processing of license infringement reports

Already 3 days ago i reported this obvious violation of my license:
https://www.printables.com/model/434682-survival-kazoo

I have not received a response from Prusa and the item in question is still online. In my opinion, this reaction time is too long.

Prusa would probably save a lot of work if they automatically checked new uploads marked as remix for license compliance (e.g., "no derivatives"). This already happens with originals hosted on Printables, but it should also be done with linked originals on other platforms like Thingiverse.

I would send them an email.  The forum post will probably not get you a response.

I have passed this on (upwards) requesting that it be looked at urgently.

Hello,

@threed-michael I apologize for the wait. Things are a bit busy and it took longer than expected to review the claim and I apologize. Your report was looked at and the other persons design was removed from public viewing while we inform them and then the posting will be deleted.

thank you

Believe it or not, the user in question reposted the license-infringing remix after Prusa removed it. I wonder if he was even told why his remix was removed. And I wonder if repeated license violations will eventually result in stronger consequences.

Report again as a second violation.  You set 'no derivatives' yet the copier has modified it and then permitted remixing.  There is an acknowledgement of your work, so far so good, but it breaches the conditions attached to the use of the design.

Of course - it's not a remix but an addition to my whistle. I liked it yesterday.

Groundhog day ...

Ten days ago I notified Prusa of the following two copyright infringements:

1.) https://www.printables.com/model/590507-8-khz-dog-whistle

2.) https://www.printables.com/model/590503-whistle

... nothing happened so far. Meanwhile, the violator earns Prusameters with my designs.

I wonder why there is even a button to report copyright infringement when these cases are only dealt with after being reported on this forum anyway...

Prusa rarely look at these fora, the report button is the best way - I have added another report as reinforcement.

It pays to make reports as easy as possible to process by supplying both URLs - it looks like Prusa deal with them in batches as they build up.

I reported it too. How incredibly shamelessly stolen. I mean even the original photos were simply copied.

Here we go again ...

I would have thought that things wouldn't get any slower, but I was surprised. More than 2 weeks ago I reported this entry, a shameless copy of my design on Thingiverse and Printables, in violation of my license and claiming it was his own design. A few days ago I made 2nd report, but nothing happened.

In the intended way: with the report menu (3 dots) next to the name of the design.

When reporting this what should we call it? Would it be a “Copyright Strike”?

Thanks for reporting!

Anyway, the offending article is still online. I wonder if there is anyone at Prusa's house ...

I had similar situations with Cults3D and Makerworld. They always responded within 24 hours. Thingiverse is another thing, they are also no faster than Prusa.

Cults and Makerworld are much smaller databases.  I suspect that Prusa and Thingverse have a process that all complaints have to go through - call it "due process".   Based on my review of their databases, they probably are having a huge problem with people copying other designs.
