Shipping import stuck (fedex)?
FedEx is a bit of a shambles now and I just got my mk3s+ shipped to me and its been sitting in Newark (post clearance) for a few days now. Anyone else stuck with fedex right now or have any suggestions? I haven't been able to get anywhere with fedex myself outside they telling me it was delayed for "weather" reasons right now.
RE: Shipping import stuck (fedex)?
Had no problems getting my printer to me last Monday. Went from Prusa, to Germany, to Indianapolis, to Memphis, and then to me in Iowa. FedEx.
Looking on their website there's this notice: https://www.fedex.com/en-us/service-alerts.html
I'd just give it some time. You can't really expect FedEx to personally bump your package in front of the Queue.

I certainly don't expect this, just reading all the other horror stories for people who are having packages held up for weeks at a time. Curious if anyone else was in the same boat.

Was queried on here whether certain couriers were quarantining parcels for 72 Hours due to Covid.
Noticed many UK Prusa deliveries were at the local depot for days before put out for delivery.
Tank you very much!
RE: Shipping import stuck (fedex)?
I was managing a small e-shop for lot of years and from experience this are the things I learned:
- The safest way by far (but not the fastest) to send something worldwide is to use normal post it may take longer to arrive but it always arrive.
- The big companies like FedEx, UPS, TNT, DHL are usually faster than normal posts but not always.
- Some of the big companies operate better than others depending on countries and/or regions. (ie. FedEx worked really well in China while TNT was useless at that time, while DHL and TNT was the way to go in the middle east area...)
- UPS used to be the best to work with when shipping to US.
- For local shipments sometimes is usually faster and cheaper to use small local courier companies.
- Provably shipments now to UK and mostly from UK can be problematic due to Brexit.
In your case that is delayed due weather I think is quite reasonable, Newark airport is quite prone to have weather problems due its geographical situation. There is a lot of snow and very cold weather all around US at the moment...

@jetuser
My printer has been held in Newark NJ, marked at "pending", since last Sunday (2/21). I've gotten the same story that it is because of weather. I called FedEx yesterday and a guy named Mylo (?) told me, and I quote, "Trust me, there are no current weather problems with your shipment". He told me he was going to put a rush on it and took my phone number so I could get an update. I did get two text messages right after that, but no new information.... just the same old BS about weather. One of the text stated the same thing I received a week ago that it will be delivered on Monday 2/22!!!
I'm losing my patients...

My kit got held up in the FedEx depot right after Newark, NJ apparently. Made it to Keasbey, NJ at 8:31am on 2/26 and then allegedly departed at 1:06pm the same day and hasn't updated since. Guess a call to FedEx customer service is warranted in the near future.
RE: Shipping import stuck (fedex)?
Here's the reply I got from Prusa support. I've been waiting for mine to change status for over a week now. This is the reply Prusa got from FedEx.

That's a total bummer.
Not sure what else to say, that really socks and blows.
Not much Prusa can do though unfortunately

That's no fun. I fortunately got some movement on my shipment on Sunday/Monday and it just arrived to my doorstep this morning.

@jetuser
I think you posted that yours was actually shipped after mine! If they jammed these shipments into "sealed containers" it's probably first in, last out!
FedEx should be ashamed of themselves for not dealing with this situation in a better format.
Maybe Prusa can't directly do something about the current problem, but they should be able to do something for future shipments. Like, get another service! I paid for expedited shipping and it is taking "weeks" to get here, not days! Seems like FedEx should refund some cost for this terrible service. I know weather is an act of God, but how a company deals with a problem like this demonstrates how well prepared and reliable they are. Hey, it's winter here and it snows!!!

I finally received my printer today after being held up by FedEx for 15 days... I understand weather can have impacts, but over 2 weeks seems crazy!

Damn, 15 days has to be near a record.

Mine showed up Wednesday so took about a week. Glad I wasn't in Ted's boat.
RE: Shipping import stuck (fedex)?
Printer arrived in Memphis on the 23rd and still sitting. FedEx can tell me nothing and Prusa CS tells me contradicting info from what the FedEx subreddit is doing (Reddit said they're doing FIFO, Prusa was LIFO).
2 days from Prague to Memphis and 18 days and counting in Memphis....

@bigfoot76
The way I finally got any real info on mine was by calling the FedEx number and going through the phone stuff giving my tracking number, etc.. If you stay on the line the machine will offer IIRC "other options". One of the options is tracking tracer or something to do with tracking. If you select that one a rep will finally answer.
Good luck,
Ted
