Shipping delay
I've ordered my prusa on the 24th of march when the leadtime was 1 - 2 weeks. Now the leadtime went up to 4 -5 weeks. My co-workers ordered it 5 days before I did and received it last week. 🙁 Anyone else in de same boat?
Support just said it could be 4-5 weeks instead. Not very encouraging.
RE: Shipping delay
Just as got shipped 😀
RE: Shipping delay
I also ordered mine on March 24th with a 1-2 week lead time. It still has not shipped as of April 12th.

Sorry to hear. I know the suspense sucks 🙁 Hopefully yours will ship soon as well 🙂

23 april 2019?
I think there will be long-term delays due to the current covid-19 situation, since production has been reduced significantly. You probably have to expect waiting times of some months or longer.

March 23 ...
Health is the most important thing!
it is obvious, who would not agree ...
People print shields in all the affected countries I think.
I print shields as soon as i can because I work, like many people, others still sew masks.
It launches great movement.
The second practical printer for other parts to be tested on stretchers at the request of the paramedics.
They want to isolate the patient directly during transport in a sort of structure surrounded by plastic film.
Many parts for a single kit (pics), clips, tube connection, they are large and long to print even with my 1.0 mm nozzle and my ABS does not like that I go quickly. (I'm not a pro)
In short if they are on break at Prusa, they simply say so.
I take a Chinese printer in stock instead to troubleshoot.
And I'll come back to Prusa later.
Take care of yourself everyone.

RE: Shipping delay
Yep, I have no problem waiting. Prusa has done a lot for PPE printing which I'm thankful for. I'm in a Coronavirus Coalition which already has a large network of 3D printers. I can help elsewhere in the coalition until I have my MK3S.
RE: Shipping delay
🙁 I ordered on the 26th (1-2 week lead) -- and I already know of 2 others who placed orders later that have already received them.
RE: Shipping delay
I still got a prusa mendel. But I can't seem to get it to working after many years of not using it. I fix one thing, and break another. I cleaned the filament path, I broke the heater wire that has gone very brittle. I change the heater cartige, I break the extruder fan...
Now I ordered something chinese that is less than 300€ and I can get in two days. But knowing me, I'll probably order a Prusa as soon as the lead time is gone (maybe next year) and resell the chinese.
RE: Shipping delay
The comments above make it sound like the shipping delay/lead time is not normally 4 months (which it is now if you look at the shipping information page).
Has the lead time just spiked recently due to various factors related to the virus?

@neilb
There is a big difference between leadtime for the MK3 and the mini. The mini has had long since it launched late last year. I don't keep track of the MK 3 leadtimes as closely, but I think it's recently gone from 2-3 weeks to 4-5 weeks. The increase is probably caused by lack of people to process / pack orders and increased demand from people wanting to print masks etc amongst other things.

@gordon-w
A big part is due to Prusa printing face shields for COVID-19. They have dedicated parts of their farm and teams to building and shipping this PPE. I'm sure there is even more demand for the printers now, but capacity is temporarily down a bit as they continue to print face shields.
RE: Shipping delay
Order my MK3 Kit on April 9 and it is saying 4-5 week delivery. This is first printer and I am getting impatient. lol I was hoping to get it while I was laid off, but it will most likely arrive when I start back at work.
RE: Shipping delay
I ordered mine on march 30th and still waiting, but hey, it's for the good cause 🙂
I hope to have it soon: i plan to craft PPE.
RE: Shipping delay
I imagine they've seen a huge bump in orders over the last week. Americans are receiving their stimulus checks of $1250 per adult, so $1000 toys are flying off the shelves. I think a million record labels may have been started this week lol (just kidding).
I know Prusa is dedicating much of their farm to PPE production, and I'm grateful for their effort. I ordered my i3 on the 11th. I'm watching everything I can find about printing on Youtube until then. Coincidentally Amazon is backed up as well, so all the bearings, magnets, and filament I ordered will trickle in before the printer does. Gives me time to set up my workstation and do some designs for future grows.
RE: Shipping delay
I ordered mine on March 24th. I received it yesterday, April 22nd. They included a Prusa Face Shield to encourage you to help print PPE for your local community. So far Prusa seems like a great company! I will likely be a long term customer.
RE: Shipping delay
@jeremiah
Did you buy the kit or assembled? If you bought the kit, how's assembly treating you? If you didn't, how's printing going for you? Pics are appreciated.
RE: Shipping delay
@smoking_rubber
I bought the kit but have not had time to assemble it yet. I plan to do that this weekend. I will get it dialed in then go to work printing PPE. I'm part of a coalition in my state. We have a large number of orders for PPE from hospitals and dental offices. I will take some pictures of the assembly.
