SD cards not being read (Anycubic Kobra 2)
Sorry if this is a bad place for this, I don't know of any other english forums. So I have an Anykubic Kobra 2, and because of an incident (rolled over it with my chair like an idiot) the thumb drive that came with it broke. I thought that would be fine, it was just a usb to microsd adapter and the 8gb microsd card was still fine. But when I tried loading it into the printer no files were visible. I reformatted the drive (tried all options, docs said fat32 but that didn't work), I have gcode files that I know worked before. and they didn't appear at all. Tried two other usb flash drives (both 4gb) and neither worked.
I did have to reinstall prusaslicer and had to remake my printer profile, but that shouldn't break the older files. Tried both the microsd and the usb-c slot on the printer, neither had anything visible
I'm a bit lost, any ideas?
RE: SD cards not being read (Anycubic Kobra 2)
Did the slow format on three different drives (all 8gb or smaller), didn't work. Tried to update the firmware, but that didn't work either. Trying to do a factory reset of the printer from its touchscreen seems to just reset settings not revert the firmware.
I can put files on the drives, so the drives are fine. I feel like the ports on the printer shouldn't be broken but I don't know.
I could contact anycubic support but I'm not confident I'll get a useful answer.
RE: SD cards not being read (Anycubic Kobra 2)
It sounds like a frustrating situation. Here are a few things you could try:
1. Check File Path: Make sure the G-code files are in the root directory of the SD card, not inside any folders. 2. Filename Format: Ensure the filenames are short and don’t contain unusual characters, as some printers have limitations.
3. Update Firmware: Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer—it might resolve compatibility issues.
4. Use a Different MicroSD Adapter: Sometimes adapters can be faulty, so trying another could work.
5. Test on Another Device: Verify the SD card and files are readable on a different device to rule out card issues.
Hopefully, one of these steps helps!

Sorry for the late response. Tried all of those.
I can't update the firmware since that goes through the sd card (kobra 2 says it has two slots, but I can't find it)
Tried a couple other adapters, and confirmed both those and the drives work on my PC.
Customer support hasn't gotten back to me, I think I'll have to call in to my local makerspace see if they can help. It might mean replacing the sd card reader, which would suck.

because of an incident (rolled over it with my chair like an idiot)
You probably damaged the usb port on the motherboard in the printer, unfortunately I have seen a few of such cases before.
If you are lucky you may try to resolder the port on the board.
If you are not lucky you also fried other electronics when damage was done ( for example other SD cards do not work in the port in the printer), and in that case printers motherboard (or maybe module on it) replacement is required.
