Rough Printing On One Side

Hi All,
I've had this issue on all of my recent prints. On the left side of the print (see pictures) it is completely fine (smooth with no issues). On the right side it prints out rougher and not as even. It seems to only do it at a certain angle. Any ideas on what is going on? Thanks.

Which printer?

This is most likely a fan issue; clean your fans and make sure the duct is properly aligned and not distorted.

Make sure you are not printing in a draft.

Rotate the part on the bed and see whether the issue rotates with the part or stays on the same side of the printer.

Cheerio,

Just a follow up for future reference. It turned out my Y axis belt was extremely loose. I tightened it up and the issue went away. Thanks.

the issue could be related to bed leveling or uneven tension on the belts. Since it's happening only on one side, check if your print bed is level across the entire surface. An unlevel bed can cause uneven extrusion, leading to rough prints on one side. Also, make sure the belts that control the X and Y movements are equally tensioned—loose or uneven belts can cause inconsistent print quality at certain angles. A firmware calibration might help too!

Hi there! It sounds like the issue could be related to bed leveling or an inconsistency in your printer's movement on one side. I’d suggest checking the following:

Bed Leveling: Ensure the bed is properly leveled across the entire surface.Belt Tension: Verify that the belts are evenly tensioned. Loose belts can cause uneven movements.Z-Axis Alignment: Check if both sides of the Z-axis are moving in sync. Misalignment can lead to uneven layers.Extruder: Look for clogs or under-extrusion that might affect one side.

Hope this helps!
