Duramic PETG: A top quality filament at a budget price
This company appears to be a new kid on the block, but don’t be fooled by the fact that this is essentially a brand new company. This company has arguably the cheapest quality PETG filament on Amazon. Their website is still not set up on GoDaddy. I am always on the look for top quality filament form my 3D printers. I go through a lot of this stuff and I hate to pay 30-50 dollars a kilogram or roll. Let me tell you that you do not need to pay a premium for quality filament.
I was very cautious about the new company but bought it anyway. At $16.99 a roll, it was too good to pass up. My Prusa gobbled up the first roll and has yet to have a problem. It performed well with no tweaks to the base setting for PrusaSlicer, Cura, and Simplify3D. The print quality is on par with just about all filaments I have purchased to date with no significant defects in the prints. There were no boogers, clogging, discoloration, stringing, or tangling on the spool. The best part is I found no noticeable odor while printing.
The packaging was perfect. It comes in a sturdy box. The filament is protected from humidity by a mylar bag with a silica pack. The spool is also well constructed with a gauge sticker on both sides to give a rough estimate of what is left on the spool. The spool will definitely be reused. There is also an added benefit of a freebee in the box: a 200×200 print surface. I have yet to use it but will add it to my Prusa Mini in the future.
I consider my self pretty experienced with 3D printing. I am on a mission to find the cheapest, best quality PETG I can find. Most of what I print is for fun, but I am starting a small business to print for locals that need things made. I have been easily gone through 30 brands of filament in a year and this stuff is the best I have used thus far.

Hi Charles,
Thanks for the review. How would you compare this brand to other in the same price range like Sunlu, esun3d, hatchbox, amazon basic ...

Much better than Hatchbox and Amazon basic in my view. No change to PrusaSlicer settings and zero stringings. I am print parts right now for an enclosure. I will post pictures.

Nice find. Sadly no shipping to Germany. Found also something from the brand Overture (only pla) on the American Amazon website, also offering a free surface. This one could be ordered and cost nearly the same shipping as the filament itself. Would be glad to see some pictures, if it's way better than most of the other filaments, I'll maybe order 5-10kg, so the shipping isn't that expensive 😀
Itâs better to give than to receive. Especially advice.
RE: Review: Duramic PETG
I am currently testing both PLA and PETG from Overture. I will do a review of them also.

Are you using the Generic PET profile? I'm having a terrible time getting this to feed through my Mk3S with a Bondtech 3:1 extruder. No amount of adjusting the tension on the rollers seems to help, so far running the temp up to 255C hasn't helped either. Machine is running the exact same gcode on PLA perfectly.
RE: Review: Duramic PETG
Yes. I will try it on my Bontech Prusa tonight.
I have three printers to test it on:
- Stock MK3S
- Bondtech MK3S
- MK3S with Mosquito.
I have not printed on the Bontech with the Duramic Filament.

This is really odd. I moved the part file over to Cura and tried it on the Ender 3 to see if I'd have better luck with its extruder. I had the same problems till I upped the nozzle all the way up to 260C, IIRC that's 40C higher than the default PET profile in Prusa slicer? I can't imagine how you got this to flow properly at that temperature unless there is a really wide variation in filaments between lots.
Anyway, I won't know if this part is really going to work for another 10 hours, but the first layer went down very smoothly, so it's looking good so far.
RE: Review: Duramic PETG
My default temperature in PrusaSlicer is 240. No issues.

RE: Review: Duramic PETG
I did a little tweaking on the Prusa after the Ender did a perfect job on the gear print. I think the Z height may be critical, I made sure it was as high as possible w/o adhesion failure. I also bumped the nozzle temp up to 260 on the first layer only.
Aside from the first layer Z calibration, I wonder what layer height you are running? The Cura profile sets the Ender at .2 by default, so when that ran perfect, I did the same on the Prusa. Maybe that and the first layer height were critical, but so far the Mk3 with BondTech seems to be running fine on this filament with the noted changes.

@steve_cranage
0.15 or 0.2 is layer height.

Ok, I have finished a week of testing Duramic PETG. I am impressed with this stuff. I find it better than Amazon Basics although it is a little glossier than Amazon Basics. I have included a image of my maker coin and aswatch comparison between the two filaments.
I have tried both black and red - below are the links:

I recently went through the journey many others posted on this forum to find a budget PETG / Prusa PETG alternative. Note - I LOVE Prusa's PETG, it's just that there are some parts that don't require that level of filament quality (and price).
Many options popped up (eSun, Polymaker PolyLite, Overture, and Hatchbox which is low on supply) however this thread made me pull the trigger to purchase two rolls of Duramic PETG. Total of $34.02 with free shipping via Amazon Prime.
I sourced the tech sheet directly from Duramic. I will be testing it today and will let everyone know how it runs.

@minimays
Thanks.
I am still using Duramic PLA and Duramic PETG. I think my favorite is the Glow in the Dark Green. I love them both and Prime Shipping in the US is a huge plus. I do not need to keep it on the shelf. When I run low on the roll, I just order another roll.

I was wondering what you thought of Duramic silver, but Amazon just dropped off a roll and I am printing with it now.
As I said in another thread, I was disappointed with the translucency of Atomic Filament silver. Duramic silver appears to look good. Have to print some things.
What nozzle and bed temps do you use with Duramic?
RE: Review: Duramic PETG
@mjlewis37
I like it, but then again, I liked Atomic.

What bed temps do you use with Duramic? I'm having trouble getting some small parts to stick using Prusa's Generic PETG settings:
230c first layer, 240c after that
bed temp 85c first layer and 90c after that
RE: Review: Duramic PETG
I have had good success with the Prusament settings.
