Prusa Slicer 2.9.1 Sequential Printing Bug(?)

When choosing sequential printing, we used to have two options.  One for print height and one for print perimeter.  These appeared on the print plate view and were extremely helpful when arranging items so that the carriage doesn't collide.  Some people use a carriage with modified cooling ducts, which make them larger than the stock Prusa print carriage, which made setting the perimeter extremely helpful.  These two options seem to be missing from 2.9.1.  I can only assume this is a bug, because why would you voluntarily remove something that is extremely helpful and useful and could only cause unforeseen problems if it were removed?  Maybe the height and perimeter should be added back to prusa slicer, as they should not have been removed in the first place?  Unless them not being under the sequential printing section of the output tab is indeed a bug?

RE: Prusa Slicer 2.9.1 Sequential Printing Bug(?)

Hi, this is a user to user forum.  Bugs for Prusa Slicer are reported over at the Prusa Slicer github. That is located https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues

The actual settings for Sequential Clearance have not been removed.  Rather they have been moved, to the Printer Profile rather than in the Print profiles.  Printers>General.  They are red/expert level settings so make sure you are in expert mode to make them visible.

This is mentioned in the release notes if you would care to read them.  https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/releases/tag/version_2.9.1-alpha1

The visualisation of the clearance though has been removed.  It has been reported multiple times.  The currently open issue regarding this is https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/14240

@fuzzybat23

Always Read the release Notes for any new version. Not only will this tell you about changes in the functionality of existing features, it will also inform you of the new.

Relative to PrusaSlicer it's always best to start reading from the alpha versions to get the most information.

Not sure I like the new feature.. 2.9.2 still doesn't show the boundaries..  I can see why they moved the setting to printer settings if you have multiple printers.. but still not a great UI feature to have to hunt for it.. .. maybe some text pointing to new location for setting.. without the avoidance clearance display, it is difficult to position the parts.. and I think they want you to use the 'auto-arrange' feature.. but after 1 minute on my M3 MacMini, it was at 2%.. and my math isn't great.. but wasn't waiting that long for something I can do with my grey matter in 10 seconds..  In the end, after positioning, the slicer reported an ERROR because it claimed the extruder would collide. (even though I reset the height to 100mm to clear all objects and located them so largest in back).. Good thing is that it didn't prevent printing and so I started it and it finished fine. (there were no collisions that were even close). If they ever remove the feature of being able to start a sequential print when it reports error.. that would be very bad..

Neither Safari nor Firefox can edit posts anymore.. jeez.. so many software issues.. I will add that the sequential new feature is a liability, rather than an improvement for my use.
