Prusa Mini - filament sensor necessary?

So I have saved enough money to get the Prusa MINI without the filament sensor upgrade. I couldn't stop thinking about the sensor upgrade because it seems so important for my first printer. Thoughts?

Can you add it after though? AFAIK only Prusa and the beta testers have seen what this looks like and if it is retro fittable. Also how can it be on ali express? Are you assuming the Mini uses the same board as the Mk3S?

No - the board is completely different - it is a new 32-bit board for the Mini, I don´t know the possible impact on the filament sensor. I think it will be very similar.

I would order the Mini without - if money is an issue - if you find out you need it, buy it later on.

Best regards,

Sorry, to clarify I meant the sensor board, I am aware the main board is different. So has anyone seen the Mini filament sensor? I ordered one with my Mini order.
