The problem with banning all politics is how do you decide and who gets to decide what is and isn’t political? Is talking about Tariffs or 3D printer laws political? This is a 3D printer forum so I’m ok with some politics as long as it’s about 3D Printers.

I think I understand why Prusa isn’t enforcing the rules on Printables. It’s because no one knows what the rules are. A spent like a hour last night looking for a “Rules” page and I couldn’t find one. I found some rules about sending messages but that’s it. Has anyone found a rules page for Printables?? I sent Prusa an email asking them about this.

https://www.prusa3d.com/page/terms-of-service-of-printables-com_231249/

The printables team took care of the issue, so the issue is resolved and closed.

Now... for those here... Play nice before you get sent to your room with no dinner 🙂

The problem with a TOS is it’s CYA written by lawyers. Printables needs a Rules Page everyone can understand. Maybe you could send them a copy of your Forum Rules that would be a good start. If they need help I have a feeling a few of us here on this forum might just have a few ideas about what should and shouldn’t be included on a Printables Rules Page.

Do you know how the people who run Printables are policing the website? Do they have people looking for problems or do they rely on us to report problems when we see them?

Rules between printables and the forums have to be different, especially in current events and such. Take for example the issue a car manufacture had with some models posted on printables and sent an official take down request. It has to be written in more legal terms and in a way that the terms of service can cover things globally.

If I was to re-write (I think the Printables team would have a Monty Python "suddenly the animator suffered a heart attack" moment) things, or if they took the "legal-ese" out of the TOS, then it opens the door to a lot of things.

Again, the 2 posts were removed so I couldn't see the comments and I stated on here previously that I am ok with people having HEALTHY discussions and CIVIL debates on here.. BUT I am also up for creating a voting post and put it to the community if "political posts" should be allowed or not since this forum is for the community...

Should I do that?

I understand why Printables needs a TOS but I don’t understand why they can’t have a Guidelines and Rules page also? I might be wrong about Printables but right now for me it feels like anything gos unless enough people complain about it. Some basic guidelines might be helpful.

You see this is where we have a huge problem, there is no rational way you can call the current president a mass murder.   If any thing he is the only recent president that has done anything to rein in mass murder regimes like Iran.   The problem we have is post like this, that accuses somebody of mass murder, that simply has no truth in it at all.    I don't like censorship, mainly because it is practiced by highly biased people as your post demonstrates.

Locking this thread upon request, and also we will be reviewing the policy about politics (in general and not just regional but also globally) when I return to the office on the 26th of June.
