Printing large parts - Research paper
I was reading some things today during some rare spare time and came across a link to printing large parts for the auto industry and how to design and implement the assembly for precision parts and strength. I just though I would share it to those that want to print larger items than our printers allow.
I found it pretty impressive since I do have some projects that require large parts with strength.

Thanks.
This gives me some ideas on how I can use this in the real world.
What they call the joggle lap looks promising to me, either used with registration pins and/or adhesive.
I've done many, many prints in pieces over the year, often due to size, but sometimes because it just works better to print the pieces and assemble, such as model railroad buildings and such.
A couple of years ago I did a 'DTV Boom Box' (portable Direct TV video thing) for the pool and I used some ugly makeshifts to join the outer case parts. The joggle lap would have made assembly quite a bit cleaner.

Your welcome. I have some ideas from this.. I was planning on making a larger printer for those large prints. May put it off now.
