Why the USD baseline? While we are based in the European Union, the Czech Republic operates with the Czech Koruna (CZK). Because our manufacturing and global purchasing are more directly influenced by the US Dollar, we use USD as our primary baseline for vouchers. We currently do not have plans to adjust these rates to a Euro baseline.

This seems fair as long as USD is also used as the baseline to calculate sales prices for printers and filament. With the weaker USD, prices in Euro should have come down quite a bit. Is that the case?

I’ve looked into this further and have some additional context regarding the recent changes to the voucher system.

Impact on Existing Vouchers I want to clarify that these changes are not retroactive:

• New Vouchers: Will follow the current USD-based exchange rates.

• Existing Vouchers: If you claimed a voucher prior to these changes, the original value remains associated with that code.

I realize this might not be the ideal outcome you were hoping for, but I hope this provides some needed clarity on our current policy.

Why does this all depend on the dollar exchange rate? Prusa is a European company with Euro as it’s currency. So we should get the same value as before and the dollar customers should get less than before. Why must we Europeans suffer from a weak dollar? That's a little bit unfair. It was 400 euros, then 370 euros and now only 340 euros. American customers still get 400 dollars. But it should be exactly the other way around. 

We aren’t living in the USA and dollar is not our main currency in europe. This is how Prusa alienate European customers…
