Pi Zero2 on Octoprint
To all you who for whatever reason run or wanted to run the Octoprint on a Zero, with the release of the Pi Zero2 can now do so. The Zero2 is claimed to be pin for pin compatible so should plug in to the main board on a MK3.
See comments on Octoprint board https://community.octoprint.org/t/the-raspberry-pi-zero-2-was-just-released-and-it-gets-an-octoprint-stamp-of-approval/38338
Great addition
I am eager to replace my Pi4s with these. One per machine.

Yes. But the problem is power consumption which is significantly higher (it is from 5V/1A to 5V/2.5A as recommended power supply) and thus thermal output. Someone should validate if you can actually pull from Einsy so much power without breaking power regulators.
Power down Pi caution.
One word of caution from the Octoprint board, if you power the Pi from the printers PSU you need to shutdown the Pi before you power off the printer. Looks like a thing that is just an accident waiting to happen so with this and the remarks in the previous post it seems like a separate power supply (with a separate on/off switch) would be a smart move.
Question
Have you seen an issue or is this theoretical? I have 8 powered by pins from the Rambo. No issues yet.

The problem (as I understand it) is potential lack of capacity in the printers PSU not the current carrying ability of the connector.
Also bear in mind Pi 3's and 4's have strict input voltage level requirements. Note genuine Pi wall wart is 5.1 volts.
But I guess all that is moot when you consider the likelihood of forgetting to shut Pi down gracefully when powering off printer.
MMU2S
Do you think it would be an issue to run the new zero2 with a MK3S and MMU2s? I'm thinking of the power draw of the new Pi and the MMU on top of the MK3s PSU.

To be honest, unless you are gonna house it in the same housing, I would just run a USB power brick.
