Orientation upon importing to Prusa Slicer

Hi, after importing the model into the software, is the orientation selected by the program to be the most efficient or effective one?

RE: Orientation upon importing to Prusa Slicer

It's my impression that prusaslicer just obeys what is in the .stl file.

I have gotten in the habit of drafting with FreeCad in the XY plane, and when it's imported it usually needs no rotation.

However, I'll always eyeball it, looking for things like maximum plate contact, minimum need for support, raft, brim, etc.

Another consideration is the texture (if any) of the sheet.  The Prusa powder-coated textured sheet is designed to have the most visible side printed on the plate.

No the orientation is taken from the model file.  You would then normally use the place to bed function of Prusa Slicer to choose which area to place on the Plater.
