then: life was easy (pre-Kindergarden), never heard of computer, self-conciousness not yet developped (I just was), ignorance was a blessing

now: Time feels to accelerate (despite covid-lockdown). Will the world end with 4-byte date overflow in 2038? C++ chrono epoch to the rescue! OMG, these nerds.
