My Experience 1/10
Obviously putting this on a forum of 3D print advocates wont get me far, but thought my experience needed to be shared.
Bought this a few years ago. Not sure if I just go the bad melon or what but after 40 hours of runtime prints started going haywire. I went through a bunch of troubleshooting/reboots/filaments/etc. and unable to get anything to work right so I decided it wasn't worth my time and put it in storage. I finally tried it again after a few years. After extensive troubleshooting and forums recommending replacing parts I decided best way to fix this was to destroy it and put it in the garbage. Initial reason I went with this printer was to avoid crap like this. Also got my package held up when it initially shipped until I paid import fees. Without knowing about that little surprise I was already soured to the Prusa experience. Not seeing anywhere else to post my review. 1/10.

new account created at 10:21 today,
First post, no apparent effort to ask for assistance in the past.
thanks for leaving your report.
Shame you didn't pass your troubles onto someone else.
there's bound to be a makerspace or Hack Space near you that could use the printer even if only for spare parts.
did you find a more functional printer or did you abandon 3D printing?

My initial post if vague. I should have clarified I was reading other peoples posts/replies trying to come up with solutions. I can post a invoice if mods think this is a fraud post. If someone wants it, it's there.
This was my entry into the market. Blame me if needed, regardless it's my experience. I've been working as an official mechanic at my production plant for a little over a year now and running manufacturing equipment for years. Not directly experienced in this field but also went through and got an electric engineering tech degree of 2 years. No completely out of my scope of skills.
Main thing that pushed me over is it seemed I need to buy parts for a machine with barely any runtime. Not acceptable. I have been dealing with enough crap outside of this. Not in the best mindset to be troubleshooting a machine that is priced for out of the box excellence.
Cheers,
jacob

Hi Jacob,
It can get frustrating when things don't work.
Where is the printer in case someone wants to pick it up
If it was close to Wigan, in the UK, I would be pleased to pick it up, as I have a number of projects needing stepper motors and the like.
regards Joan

FWIW - Your experience is not typical. If you'd care to summarize your issues, lots of people here are willing to spend a lot of time with you getting it working. If nothing else, maybe we can improve your outlook on things! They are really excellent printers once you get them going.

I appreciate the outreach. I wasn’t kidding, I was done with this and made the machine into a mess. The reason I came on here is to post my experience since I couldn’t find anywhere else.

They certainly are, even for a semi noob like me 😉
@jacob
I considered throwing in the towel early on as well, almost put a hammer through an Ender 3 Pro. It is a very steep learning curve, and my 25 years in the Printing industry as an engineer seemed to count for not really that much.
But as above, we are more than willing to assist if you change your mind and rescue it from the wheelie bin.
Tank you very much!

Not really sure what we can do to help then. We're a user-to-user support group, so the emphasis is on helping each other out. We're not so good at being listeners for complaints.

RE: My Experience 1/10
Wow, how piss must this guy be, to destroy the printer rather than put it on eBay. Bound to be someone looking for mainboard or LCD or whatever.
RE: My Experience 1/10
Looks like the mainboard and lcd have been smashed.
Good for a spares mc, but thats about it.
OP never did indicate what was wrong with the mc, would be interested to know what the issue was.
Mind you, a 2 year old machine, surely anyone can expect to need to replace some parts after 2 years.
Suppose we will never know, as seems he is not even willing to discuss the matter.
Tank you very much!
RE: My Experience 1/10
I would post one problem at a time so we can fix them. This forum is very good at assisting but we have to approach one problem at a time.

I am in Sedona AZ, I'll give you $400.00 and I will drive up to grab it. Let me know.
RE: My Experience 1/10
It does look like it was smashed. More at play here than just technical issues. I don't think there's anything we can do to help at this point.

@cwbullet
Regrettably, looking at the debris, I reckon we might once have fixed it fairly easily...

...there are all the signs of the classic first layer problems and misguided attempts to fix it with remedies meant for older printers. I doubt it needed any new parts and even if it did warranty should have covered it.
If anyone out there is having similar thoughts please give us a chance to help you before you reduce your printer to a handful of second hand spares.
Cheerio,
RE: My Experience 1/10
@diem
Seems a bit strange that did not want to waste money buying spares but happy to destroy what amounts to (Even in a non working condition) £400-500 worth of 3d printer and filament. He seems to have been given some really poor advice, when he really should have been directed back here/Prusa Tech support for help.
Everything can be fixed (well unless it is a rather nasty little ender 3 that ended up on flea bay for spares or repair)
Possibly just a case of utter frustration, but surely you would come back to where you purchased the printer from for support instead of going onto reddit or another forum for support?? Especially when that company you purchased it from gives a 2 year warranty and some of the best support in the industry!!
Reddit et al (If that's where he got the advice from) can have their benefits, but really can not understand why so many people go onto Reddit in the first instance for support instead of the manufacturer/place of purchase. Clearly not all manufacturers invest as much in support as Prusa, but I just don't get this mindset..
I have redirected so many people from Reddit Thermaltake forum, direct to the manuf forum for support and normally get a reply like.."Oh, I thought this was Thermaltake"

I for one would be glad to take it off your hands. Many schools or maker spaces would do the same.
