RE: MK4 Wishlist
see the M3D Crane Quad printer / extruder... the quad extruder is available as a mod the MK3
Could not find the mod for MK3, but thanks for the info! I just purchased the MMU unit, cause I really want to have prints in color. But I think MK4 with built in color mixing would be nice to have 😉 (I am not very good in bastling and modding, so if possible I would purchase the complete solution)
RE: MK4 Wishlist
Hi Joseph,
Recommendations:
- 32 bit Rambo
- .8 steppers X/Y
- 3:1 Extruder / or .8 stepper if possible
- Print bed accessory for Nylon
- Mosquito option
- The rest of the machine is excellent... Please don't change anything..
The MK3S is an excellent machine as is. Had to upgrade to the Mosquito hotend but other than that nothing else competes. Love this thing!
Regards,
James
RE: MK4 Wishlist
I have a number of the MK3s and love these things..Such a pleasure to maintain one set of profiles and just load into a machine and off it goes.. Don't remember my last failed print due to anything other than modelling mistakes.. Love the ability to concentrate on modelling and not endless tinkering with settings and slicers.. ABout to turn off and retire my last non-Prusa machine but ..
1-What I need is a bigger build capability .. 300 x 300 x 400 a nice start?.. I am about to add a bigger machine for this need and it would be nice to continue to have only the one machine line and known quality of prints. I have gotten away from multiple machine brands and the headaches of dealing with many machine profiles .. But I need the ability to print larger pieces.. Multiple size capabilities? PLEASE..
2- Would love WiFi connectivity and ability to monitor my printing from any device and directly load new models and control machines from afar.. would help make the display question fairly moot..
Thanks for your continuing quality and reliability.. Such a pleasure these days when you just expect so-so quality and accept it as inevitable..
Best Regards

I have a CR-10S Pro and would love to have a larger PRUSA.

RE: MK4 Wishlist
Sounds like the CR-10S Pro has left a somewhat bad taste ? I have almost pulled the trigger on that a couple of times, I need a bigger build area and it seems the best choice of what's available in the price area? Did it take long to get it to print well? Many problems? Would you buy it again?
RE: MK4 Wishlist
Did have my first non-model related failures right after I posted wishes.. of course.. Related to differences between MK3 and MK3S machines.. sigh.. back to multiple profiles.. arghh..
RE: MK4 Wishlist
Dual-extruder capability (Through an upgrade). Or arbitrary print-volume capability (With upgrades and firmware config) would be awesome. IT would be need to have a 3D printer the size of my garage for large projects. Ten thousand hour prints.
RE: MK4 Wishlist
How about a new model? Maybe a Resin printer?

Like the SL1?

I would strongly recommend avoiding any product of M3D.
When someone asks you if you're a god, you say, "YES!"

Uh..... Yes?
D'oh.
RE: MK4 Wishlist
I would support the option but would be shocked to see the Mosquito a part of the MK4.

Make the hotend and part cooling fan pluggable at the extruder. Sooner or later a fan needs to be swapped out and with the current setup you have to redo the cable management which was the most annoying part while building the printer 😆

I would say make the whole thing pluggable so you can pop the entire extruder off the X carriage without having to tear everything apart.

I 100% agree.

RE: MK4 Wishlist
Regardless of what it uses for a filament sensor, add a physical indicator similar to the PINDA/FINDA so we don't have to rely on a menu option that we can not always get to when trying to debug issues.
RE: MK4 Wishlist
- Piezo sensor to use the nozzle for probing (like duet)
- Denser pattern for probing
- Cleaning station for the nozzle right before the print is about to begin (rubbing it against a steel brush)
- Pluggable extruder package so the cable package to the extruder can stay intact
- extruder that is a combination of bondtech and zesty nimble
RE: MK4 Wishlist
Maybe print and include a tool for calibrating the pinda probe compared to using a zip tie? Also printing bearings with the IGUS filament or developing a prusament to compete with iglide and then making custom bearings that can be attatched to the frame so that they are properly tensioned. I use IGUS drylin and they do have a bit of movement in the inner diameter since they are not compressed in the recommended, yet expensive, metal sleeves, but the difference it makes in noise is incredible.
RE: MK4 Wishlist
Errh. The ziptie works. KISS. For PINDA height setting.
