melting scrap filaments to pellets instead of shredding?
How big are pla pellets? What are the dimensions?
I was looking into reusing scrap filament. I initially thought of looking into getting a shredder for pla. But they are costly. 200 at least for a manual hand one.
I was thinking couldn't one one make a mold for a lot of pellets then cast them. One could then melt down the pla to the shape of the pellets instead of shredding. what do yall think?

Nurdles come in diffent sizes and grades but typically they are extruded at 3-4mm dia and cut off about the same length - hot, and air cooled as they fall into a hopper.
