Just bought a Prusa, scared I over paid for a clone.
Hello, I am very new to all of this. I had read the only place to get a real Prusa is from the factory. However I already purchased one from voxelfactory.com in Canada. How likely is it that I got an original genuine Prusa printer? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I am just nervous now.

I don't like the way Voxel worded it. "Reprap Prusa". But the pictures do look authentic.

Thank you I did as you suggested. Confirmed that Voxel purchases directly from Prusa. My mind is at ease.

Voxel Factory also carries an extensive list of Prusa MK3s parts. I got my new bed thermister and bearing from them. Great for people living in Canada. No dealings with Customs or waiting for parts from overseas.
They are trying to get original Prusament filament as well.

Ah that is very exciting! I’m not sure if Prusament would print better on the Prusa but I would assume so.
That’s could just be the noobie in me talkin.

Prusament is good filament - but I don't think it is superior to the other name brands.
Just avoid the low end and cheap filled filaments. What you don't want is a clogged hot end.

Prusament is one of the better filaments.. but there are some very good North American manufactures as well. Some of the China filament is getting better but I like to support the local industries when I find a good product at a reasonable price.
Filaments with additional fillers, from good manufactures are generally reliable when using their minimum recommended nozzle size.

I cannot comment on Prusament as I have never tried it. Maybe when/if Voxel Factory gets PR agreement to carry. In the meantime, I have used neat spooled premium PLA from filaments.ca. In middle of big project and it is performing without issues. After over 100 hours of printing, I ran out of filaments.ca transparent PLA and had to order a more expensive ( >2x more ) PLA by Materio3d. 7 hours into it's first 9 hour job it stopped extruding. I am using MG Chemicals PLA now as well and very happy with the quality of the prints. Every bit as good as the Prusa silver that came with my kit. I start with the Prusament profile and so far all I have to do is raise first layer temp 5 degrees.
I was in a computer store and saw Creality and Anynet PLA. Passed.
In the end, set your expectations low when buying filaments and you will not be disappointed. If it works in your printer and you like the quality, then that is the "best" filament for you.
If you don't want to take the risk, go with big names, If you want to roll the dice - buy cheap.
Then MG chemicals blue filament I have now is awesome shade, AND the spool has a cardboard core AND sides. Just plastic to hold them together. Haven't looked for recycle symbol yet.
I think Voxel only sells kits. If so, take your time assembling and check forum for issues others had. I did and my printer worked great the first time. You will love it.
