Josef Prusa and the MK4 featured in Hackspace Magazine, issue 67

For those of you who have access to Issue 67 of Hackspace Magazine, (hint: you do - see below) you will find that the feature article in this issue is on the new(ish) MK4, including some interview questions with Josef Prusa.

Also included is a sidebar (endbar?) discussing PrusaLink, PrusaConnect and Octoprint.

The article discusses Prusa's history, from the Mendel and RepRap roots, up through the MK4, which is discussed in depth.  The XL is mentioned, but not detailed.

I found the article to be detailed and mostly accurate (disclaimer: I do not own the MK4) with the only item that raised my eyebrows being the statement by Josef that the load cell was tested for force by placing an egg on the build plate.  This seems to contradict the reports here (and elsewhere) of dents and divots on the removable sheets due to the force during the per-print Z sensing.

It is very much worth reading.

Issue 67 should be available in hardcopy now in the UK, and the digital issue is available for all at: https://hackspace.raspberrypi.com/issues/67

Test or pre-production units in a lab, no matter how exhaustive or abusive you try to make the testing, are not the same as production units in the wild, in the hands of end users.  That's not making an excuse, that's reality.  E3D had to go through this with the Revo heater cores as well, and now the reports of failed Revo heaters that were common a year ago seem to have mostly disappeared.
