I need a code to park the extruder for cleaning
when I develop a bugger on my hot end I need to do a filament change to stop the printer and clean.
It would be nice to have a code to park the extruder in the right front corner, keep the bed and extruder temps steady and lift the extruder 10 mm. Have it wait till I press a key to resume print.
Is there such a code?
RE: I need a code to park the extruder for cleaning
I hope you mean booger, not bugger.
Cut the filament about 10-20 mm above where it enters the extruder. As the end of the filament disappears into the extruder body the printer will detect that it has run-out of filament. It will park the extruder in the right front corner raised by approximately 10-20mm. Follow the instructions to remove the remains of the filament, clean the nozzle, then re-insert the end of the filament into the extruder, the printer will resume printing, et voila, job done. No coding required.
