Hmm, Anycubic Kobra Max for $600 or MKs+ for $750 or XL for $2k in a year
I sincerely hope that a Mk4 is in the works- use the upgrades that went into the Mini (nice interface, 32 bit controller etc), add size to the bed and overall height to get at least a cubic foot of build volume, for less than twice the price of the Kobra Max, or the big deltas. With just over a cubic foot on the XL, no high print speed promises and the huge price, the value proposition is kind of tough. The mid-range printer market has a lot of competition.
I cannot help but wonder if 32 bits is not on the schedule for a MK4- or as an upgrade, when Prusa has decided to focus connectivity options on the 8 bit controller- makes me think that if a 32 bit upgrade was in the works they would not have focused on that.

Just because you have not heard about it, does not mean that Prusa is not working on it.

I owned an Anycubic and immediately swapped out the Chinese knock off E3D parts with the real stuff from E3D to make it a much better printer. But, even then, it pails in comparison to the Prusa. You will pay more, but it is totally worth it. My suggestion, save up for the Prusa.

Really, one year? Since Prusa is so quit with updates about the XL I think one year may be optimistic. I have not seen any reviews of the use of an XL on youtube (since it release) so I wonder if anybody is getting one. I want to buy a Prusa XL but would like to get some feedback of actual users first. Since there is none I am now also more leaning toward buying an Anycubic Kobra Max. May not be the best, but at least you know what you are getting (from watching the youtube reviews).
