I've had very good luck polishing ABS parts by just dipping a soft mop brush in acetone and kinda teasing the surface.
Also got some pieces almost clear by suspending in a jar with a paper towel soaked in acetone.

This is the best video I have seen in months! What a refreshing combination of scientific rigor, clever modeling, and musical creativity. This technique is pure genius, and I am grateful for the detailed video. And the penny whistle at the end was a real treat!
