Forum language tracking is broken
I routinely get messages from the forum in languages other than my default (English). I have gotten messages in German, and I believe I just got one in Spanish (all I caught was the word "tiempo" before it was lost). It's random and buggy.
I am sure the admin is aware, but if not, here you are. These forums are awfully... glitchy... for something that has been a feature of the internet for a very long time.
RE: Forum language tracking is broken
And the irony of just posting the first post, I got this message
RE: Forum language tracking is broken
I'm seeing Polish in my case. Also, "Quote" stopped working or is sporadic and occasionally "Edit" is not working.
RE: Forum language tracking is broken
The messages in different languages are a feature meant to encourage you to learn new languages.
Kidding aside we've complained about this since dinosaurs were still around, no avail. In my hands it's actually better than it once was but I do still get the occasional message in French or Czech.
The forum software is awful but apparently so tightly integrated with other Prusa systems that they don't want to replace it, I was told by someone apparently in the know.
For now we can only fantasize about a world in which we don't get messages in Spanish, don't have to log in several times a day, and can upload 3mf files without having to compress them first. I for one have given up hope that they ever hire a summer student to replace the software.

RE:
I just uninstalled Chrome and using Edge. Chrome was misbehaving on too many websites. No doubt all somewhat security related, but button presses like "Notifications" here in Prusa3d.com probably aren't going to break my computer. Edge seems to be much better and more compatible, for now.
ps: and this variation of Prusa3d.com is the second iteration. The last time they made a major change they lost tons of information: images are no longer linked properly (just about all of your posts had the same first image your account posted. Was truly sad. No doubt something Prusa doesn't want to experience again. But, there are issues they can fix, like not cross linking printables with prusa3d ...
RE: Forum language tracking is broken
Thank you for your message,
Unfortunately, some people use their native language in the English forum (Particularly SPAMMERS)
we moderators, do our best to keep this under control,
If you get foreign language messages, could you please 'report' them, using the report button at the bottom of the post, and we will either ban and remove spam, or move posts to the correct forum.
regards Joan

RE:
I think the OP is talking about the website generated response to things like making posts, checking notifications, etc.
I finally got tire of Chrome doing all sorts of obnoxious things on many websites and switched to Edge. Edge behaves - buttons work, no language issues, posting and editing work - and these things are now correct across many sites that appeared broken with Chrome (even incognito is broken on Prusa3d.com).
Edge is slower, has quirks, and while I really prefer how Chrome does things, I can't argue with the fact Edge works where Chrome doesn't. Others use Mozilla Firefox with similar improvements.
ps: going back to trabajanto, yes, the Prusa site is sending you responses in other languages, regardless of browser. this has been an issue for a very long time.
