First layer inspection - PrusaSlicer Feature idea?
I don't know if this is something others would like to see, but I often want to double check the first layer. Sometimes the build plate isn't clean enough, or whatever, and the first layer just doesn't come out as sexy as it should. Depending on the print, that could be OK or it could be the first indication of a print about to fail. Smaller prints often can't bee seen at all..
So here's what I'd like to see: A checkbox in the GUI that when selected injects gcode that would work similar to the filament change. So after the first layer, the head would get pulled to the side like during filament change BUT the Y-axis would get pushed to the front so you can make a visual inspection of the first layer. The printer display would then offer to continue or cancel the print. It would be desirable if there is no user input within a timeout the print would continue.
Would anyone else like to see this?
When someone asks you if you're a god, you say, "YES!"
RE: First layer inspection - PrusaSlicer Feature idea?
I think that should be possible to do using custom "after layer" gcode. Check if it's the first layer, then move then bed, then emit the M0 gcode waiting for a click ...
