Filaments good adhesion Epoxy
Hi,
I want to do some tests (following standards) to check the adhesion between 3d printed FDM parts and epoxy (glass fabric).
I have a Prusa and I would like to select 4/5 filaments to test. Based on your experience (or references) which filaments should I for sure test?
I would like to test from low temperature resistant filaments (e.g. PLA) to high temperature ones (e.g. PC).
Any suggestion is appreciated.
Thanks
RE: Filaments good adhesion Epoxy
I just made some weeks ago some tests on different adhesives with PLA+
Let's say that epoxy bonds it, but it is not the strongest bonding system by far.
I am now working to improve the chemical welding system I describe in the video as well. In order to find the right filler concentration to solvent, and the right bonding method/s, so the chemical welding system it is easy to do and creates the strongest bonding.

@gonper
Epoxy is a varied list of adhesives. I often use plastic specific expoxies that fuse the two parts.

Yes provably you are right @Chuck H, some plastic PLA specific designed epoxy will be good but I have not been able to find it. Only for ABS, PVC, PC, Acrylics but not for PLA...
So for my projects, that usually require very high strong bondings I can only use CA or the Dichloromethane/PLA welding systems that I developed.
Provably the welding product can be developed further using as well Methyl Acetate solvent in mix with Dichloromethane. But I have not tested that mix yet.
And this system has its advantages, that is much easier to use and cheaper than epoxy.
