Filament will not stick to bed.

Hi, I am tearing my hair out here. I have just built my Mk3 and cannot get the filament to stick to the bed in the first layer calibration. I  have set the nozzle and PINDA level time and time again to no avail, the filament appears to be very thin and will not stick. it just lays on top of the bed being dragged around. Any help would be appreciated. I am using the filament supplied with the machine and have also tried others.

RE: Filament will not stick to bed.

You left off the most important part. What type of build sheet are you using?

The textured build sheet requires extra preparation. There are many topics here that cover it.

First though - scrub whatever sheet you have with unscented dish detergent and copious amounts of water.

Dry with a fresh paper towel. Finish drying on the heated bed. Never ever let a finger touch the build area...

Don't worry about IPA or other cleaners until you try this.

Hi yes using textured plate. I washed it with hot water and washing up liquid about a dozen times. I finaly got it to stick by  playing with the nozzle height whilst doing a first layer calibration by winding the nozzle down much further than expected and altering the PINDA height. But while doing a print the edges seem to be curling up and the whole lot came away from the bed and made a mess. This adjustment seems extremely critical and difficult to do.I find it difficult to see the section of the filament on the bed.

There are a number of calibration surfaces for Z. Whichever you use - post a picture here and let us comment.

And read this for reference:
