Filament stuck in the hotend of i3MK3S+
Hi, I have been using PETG but switched to PLA today. It was working fine but all of a sudden, no filament came out from the nozzle in a new print job. Using the approaches described in:
https://help.prusa3d.com/en/article/removing-filament-from-extruder-manually_121491
https://help.prusa3d.com/en/guide/how-to-replace-a-ptfe-tube-mk3s-mk2-5s-mmu2s_21664/
did not help. Trying to do loading and unloading filament but it resulted in loud noise only. When I removed the hotend from the i3MK3S+, I found that there are some melt filament in between the top of the heatblock and the cylindrical heatsink. Because of that, I cannot unscrew the heatsink to get the PTFE-tube and the stuck filament out. Any good method to take them out? Is it going to be very difficult and time consuming to do it?
RE: Filament stuck in the hotend of i3MK3S+
The nozzle is not tightened in accordance with prusa or e3d procedures.
Heat the nozzle to 250° C, disable the motors, then push the filament from the top of the extruder. If that's a no go then with the extruder heated push a needle the size of your nozzle while this is hot. I've even pushed the filament through with the long thin Allen wrench.
Good luck
Stay safe and healthy, Phil
