Filament storage in the dark?

I stored my filament in zip bags and cardboard boxes that are used for shipment.

Now I bought myself a couple of containers as dry box.

These boxes are transparent. Do you need to store the filament in the dark (in a cabinet) or is it ok to store them on a shelf.

RE: Filament storage in the dark?

UV (eg sunlight) can degrade filament, so dark is best. But depending on duration and intensity it may not be a big deal.

Thanks for the reply, this was my guess too. The filament probably ages a little faster than in the darkness.
