Farm / Workshop
My current set up has 4 printers plugged into each UPS system for project agains surges and give a few minutes battery back up. I have 16 printers and 4 UPS systems.
I am building a new workshop to house them. I want to wire it so there are plugged directly into the outlets and will probably just avoid the UPS. How have you wired your workshop for 3d Printers?

RE: Farm / Workshop
I just have a stand-alone UPS for the Prusa. Plain vanilla Best Buy open-box special. 650va IIRC, too lazy to go look at it to see for sure. 😉
I just got an Ultimaker S5, and for that I am going to use an APC 900va unit that I was not using, as soon as I get it thoroughly checked out. It was dead when plugged in, but I took out the battery, charged it on a bench supply, stress tested it with a power resistor, charged it back up, and put it in and it started fine. If it''s still showing green tomorrow I'll install it.
Now last weekend I saw a small 'farm' (I would call it more of a 'garden' than a farm) of Creality units, and they had them plugged into, I think three-up, what looked like Best Buy specials, but I did not look at the ratings.
Now for our network closet I have a Tripp-Lite Smart-Online unit which does not switch over on power failure. It runs the load off of the inverter continuously and when the power goes out there is absolutely no interruption, not even for a partial cycle.
RE: Farm / Workshop
Thanks. I am thinking about having a breaker for each printer.

why would you wish that? Do you have an issue with earth leakage?

If you are going the route of breaker per printer, it might be a point to look into the same type of power distribution rails used in datacenters.
They are often web-monitored and can powercycle individual outlets.
Another failsafe.

RE: Farm / Workshop
A separate breaker for each device is often used when total uptime is a consideration. Under that scheme, an overload on one circuit will only disable one device.

@jsw
That was how I saw it.
I also thought about adding a generator or solar panels.

In my mind, if you have UPS - it doesn't matter if a circuit breaks

@john-13
Not entirely true. You have to receive a notification to fix it.

The installation of the solar panels is separate from the overheating protection system. I have a solar panel generator. It's a great solution for my neighborhood, where I often lose light.
Power
How many printers are you powering with your solar panels?
