Eshop performance

Dear Prusa Research

Today for the second time I received a notification email about the SuperPINDA being back in stock (@ 12:58CET).
I happened to be online, so I immediately hopped into the store to add it, or rather, check out as it was still in my cart from yesterday when I had a similar experience.
I kept refreshing both the item and the cart page every other minute to not miss my chance (sorry for hammering), as the Eshop still showed "temporarily out of stock".
Finally (@13:43 CET) the page showed "last items in stock" and the cart showed the payment options. Within seconds (!) I clicked on "Paypal" and "I confirm my order" (as everything was prefilled and ready to go) and the address, delivery method and payment method frames started their "working" circle (@13:44 CET).

It is now 30 minutes later and the page is still "working". Guess I'll dare a Reload and find my order unable to go through because an item is out of stock.

Please note that in the cart the payment options only show up if all items are available; however if ONE item is unavailable, it is not marked WHICH ONE is unavailable, so unless one knows which one it might be (I have strong hunch it might be the SuperPINDA...) it's hard to kick that item from the cart and check out.

Now; I know the shop is extremely busy and especially the SuperPINDA is like the hottest item so it's bound to be out super fast. I get that. But in my book, if an item is in my cart, it should be blocked in the inventory system for the active session and not be a game of roulette between when the shop frontend updates and the person with the lowest latency between server, screen and order button.
Put a timeout on the cart session, if you add stuff and dont buy it within 5 minutes or add other stuff to the cart, it will drop from the cart. Fine.
Or add preorders for items in such high demand.
The way it "works" currently is just a bad experience.

RE: Eshop performance

I have noticed this same issue.  I would send an email or contact chat support also.

I did so both yesterday and today. They're probably swamped if all the MINI owners and the legions of MK2++ owners want a probe and mostly have the same bad experience.

Recived yet another notification, yet again no availability, I must have missed my 5s window again. 😉

@chris-ko

THANKS.  I like to make sure.  Some folks think the forum is a great way to communicate with Prusa and it might not be.
