'Em Kay' or 'Mark'
When you read or write the name of one of Prusa's printers, such as MK3, MK4, do you internally pronounce it as 'Mark', or 'Em Kay'? For me it's always 'Mark', as in 'version' (think VW Golf, Jaguar, eyeball 🙂 etc), so when I read 'an MK4' it grates just a tiny bit. But it's clear that for many people it means 'Em Kay', so when I write 'a MK4' that must grate equally on them.
Just curious what the split is between 'Em Kay' and 'Mark' among forum users.

To-may-toes or to-mah-toes — doesn't matter, they're all red (or orange in this case 🙂) But I'm also in the Mark camp — maybe it's a regional preference (Em Kay feels more Europe-centric?)

RE: 'Em Kay' or 'Mark'
In my pedantic mind, MK is Em-Kay & Mk would be Mark. But I didn't come on the Prusa scene until MK3S, so maybe my perception doesn't count.
Whatever you find to do with your hands, do with all your might!
RE: 'Em Kay' or 'Mark'
Mk has always been Mark to me.

Completely clear - no discussion: MARK (but only for me) 😀

Finally a thread about what really matters, thank you Chris for bringing that up!
Of cause it’s “Mark” by the way… The heretic @hello will be tortured in 3d-printing hell (removing blobs of doom from an endless amount of hot ends) for all eternity for calling in “em-kay”!
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
Find out why this is pinned in the general section!
RE: 'Em Kay' or 'Mark'
OH NO, not the blobs of doom!!!! No one deserves that!

"Em Kay" makes my teeth itch. Especially if it's preceded by "PROO-sa" 😀
(On one of the recent Prusa live videos, Josef and Mikolas pronounced it "Mark", and then one of their engineers in the vid said "Em Kay"... But after that the engineer switched over to "Mark" and my teeth returned to normal).
RE: 'Em Kay' or 'Mark'
I’ve heard Josef Prusa state ‘Mark’ when he refers to models many time sin his live streams.

RE: 'Em Kay' or 'Mark'
I’ll just leave this here.
I don’t mind either way however. To each their own. It’s not as bad as when most of the population around here (in the UK) pronounce “three” as “free”… now that really does get my goat!

And what if I told you I pronounce it "muck"? 🤣 MK3S as in "muck threes". Did I just make your teeth fall off?
